GOOD: I finished student teaching and grad school yesterday! All of my classes threw me parties and made me awesome presents! For the first time since I entered Pre-K, I am not going to be a student in the fall! WEIRDNESS.

BAD: Period 5, which was the closest to being my favorite class, pretty much made it clear that they liked their English student teacher (who is admittedly awesome and someone I hope to be friends with now that we're done) more than me.

GOOD: I got a call-back interview! I didn't think the initial interview went all that well, so I'm very happily surprised! I also got an awesome suit from J. Crew and a sassy-grown-up-hair cut, so now I just need to throw on the glasses and the pumps and I'm ready to meet the principal!

BAD: Twisted my ankle earlier today - no swelling, but slight bruising. Hurts quite a bit. Wearing the pumps on Monday should be a hoot. Did I mention that this school is comprised of five million staircases?

I'm guessing if my ankle isn't causing me intense pain, it's not biggie. I'm just starting to worry that I'm going to have to spend tomorrow in the emergency room - tomorrow needs to be another resume extravaganza. I do have books to read though...

I got called for my first interview! Of course this was the day I decided not to look at my phone all day...

Short story - it's a middle school job in a rather upscale district. I, of course, was planning to go suit shopping this weekend so I don't have one for this week. I also took today off and now will have to take at least a few hours off later this week. And now I have to put my portfolio together...

Argh panic attack!

ugh

So I've officially messed up a homework assignment. Not one that I had to do, but one I actually assigned. I don't know which is worse, really.

Essentially - my friend and I had to make an interdisciplinary website for our class early in the semester. It was on a topic that I just covered with my students, so I asked them to look at the site over the weekend and answer one of the questions we had put up. First problem - a lot of my students couldn't access the site. That sucked, but I just sent them the questions. The second and really big problem - there's something up with the site and I can't see everyone who posted! I mean, it's not that big a deal, since I wasn't planning on having this count for much or anything, but it still really sucks knowing that I blew it.

And now I have to finish grading the stupid notes that my co-op has them do. Seriously, why assign notes that you have no intention of having your students actually use? Why encourage them to ask questions like "What color was Jackson's horse?" and other stupid things that I am, for some reason, obligated to answer. But seeing as how this is my day off (because I'm very very sick *cough cough*), I think I'll break in an hour to play a little Guitar Hero.

Thanks for the code, [personal profile] latentfunction!

Here's a dilemma: I was about to post about how I have a "new" journal and am not actually going to post when I got gchat thing-y from one of my old friends from class. He's an older guy (and by that I mean older than me, like he's 35) and got married last summer. He's already teaching and has offered me advice in the past. The last time I talked to him he ended with "Let me know if you need any help...my wife will be away a lot of weekends." Should I feel uncomfortable talking to him or should I feel comfortable ignoring him? Ugh...no time to decide.

Anyway - feel free to friend me here.

ETA: Ew...creepy guy just offered to take me out to "celebrate" the end of my student teaching. ew ew ew ew

ETA 2: Creepy Guy: well, I need to get back to work....but keep in touch and let me know....I'll be in Gettysburg on a class trip next weekend...but I'm on my own every weekend

EW!!!!
